Territorios Vivos is an independent non-profit organization created in May 2004 that works for sustainability based on the recognition of the value of natural systems and social involvement in their conservation. Its activities include environmental awareness, conceived from a basic strategy of social transformation: environmental education and volunteering to promote constructive contribution. Under the framework of an agreement with Vías Pecuarias de la Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid, Territorios Vivos is working on the restoration of a 5 ha degraded area in the municipality of Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid. In this project, an area of 1.2 ha has been enriched with trees, through the planting of 250 Quercus ilex and Quercus robur trees, for which the association has had the support of volunteers.
