Forestry Restoration La Peñuela Fire in Doñana Natural Park and surrounding area

In 2017 there was a fire that burned almost 9000 ha, in the environment of the Doñana National Park and affected part of the Doñana Natural Park. Plant for the Planet is in charge of the execution of this project together with the local authorities, for the recovery of the Fauna and Flora of this place so emblematic for biodiversity, the project is being carried out in several phases. During our visit, we were able to visit part of the plots that are within the Doñana Natural Park and other plots belonging to the Municipality of Moguer (Pinar Peñuelas, where the fire originated). It is an area with a high emotional charge, from the anthropological point of view, due to its proximity to the National Park, its population enjoys the pine forests in pilgrimages and takes advantage of the forest by collecting pine nuts. The recovery of this area is necessary not only from an ecological point of view but also from a social point of view.
