Project promoted and implemented by Bosques Sostenibles, which since 2010 focuses its activity on the development of actions to strengthen biodiversity by increasing resilience to climate change and facilitating the creation of CO2 sinks by managing the procurement of carob credits through plantations. The project focuses on the reforestation of a mountain located in the Iruelas Valley, an important reservoir of biodiversity that was affected by a forest fire in 219. During 2020, activities have focused on the preparation of the land for the implementation of reforestation starting in 2021 on an area of 140 ha. The aim is to reach a planting density of 2,000 feet per hectare, consisting of Pinus sylvestris in the higher altitude zone and Betula alba and Sorbus forming copses near watercourses and watercourses. This project includes a study in collaboration with the University of Valladolid on the climatic impact on the development of the stand prior to the fire.
