Green Ring of Granada

Granada is currently the fourth most polluted city in Spain. The establishment of a green ring around the city of Granada, through the restoration of forests and other landscapes, will create new green areas of enjoyment and leisure for the citizens of Granada. In addition, the multiple and imminent threats posed to the region by the climate crisis will be partially mitigated by the restoration of these green areas and forests. The Anillo Verde therefore aims to contribute to the well-being and livelihoods of current and future generations in the Granada region. The plots are owned by the Granada City Council. The project is being implemented by Plant for the Planet. The images correspond to the Víznar Landfill (not yet planted) and the Sacromonte Abbey (whose plantation has been 100% lost due to a forest fire).
