A set of absorption projects promoted by Eurofred, CaixaBank, Fundación AQUAE and Grupo Sylvestris aimed at offsetting corporate emissions. The project is implemented by Grupo Sylvestris, which has been developing absorption projects for years both on its own behalf and for other entities seeking to offset their CO2 emissions. The project is included in MITECO's Absorption Projects Register and involves the restoration of 52.6 ha of forest affected by a forest fire in Vall d'Ebo (Alicante). The restoration is based on autochthonous species suited to the environment of the area. The species composition was designed to be resilient and to offer multiple services such as fruit, firewood, browsing, etc. Quercus ilex ssp ballota and Pinus halepensis have been planted. Individual guards were installed and a final density of 525 ft/ha is expected to be reached.
