Project promoted and executed by Gupo Sylvestris, which has been developing absorption projects for years, both on its own behalf and for other entities seeking to offset their CO2 emissions. The project involves the restoration of 5.06 hectares of privately owned forest, located in the municipality of Montoro de Mezquita, affected by a forest fire. The restoration is based on native species suitable to the environment of the area. The species composition was designed to be resilient and to offer multiple services such as fruits, firewood, browsing, etc. Quercus ilex, Quercus faginea, Pinus nigra ssp salzmannii, Prunus spinosa, Crataegus monogyna, Sorbus domestica, Celtis australis, Juniperus oxycedrus, Juniperus thurifera and Pinus halepensis have been planted. Individual guards were installed and a final density of 521 ft/ha is expected to be reached.
